We have been quite surprised when we got a letter from one of our former photographers at the Life Ball. Opening the envelope we discovered a real treasure – long forgotten pictures of the very first Life Ball in 1993. What a nice surprise!
Name: “Einfach“ Curt
Nickname: Respond to all, as long as it is nice!
Occupation: Many things, a jack of all trades, master of many.
Age: Old enough to know nothing about a twitter, a widget or is it a gadget
). Young enough to not have the 10-(grand)children family, but the cats keep me going day and night.
Favorite Food: I eat anything as long as it is food and must taste good, but definitely no brussels sprouts, eeks!!
Hobbies: Let me think, after working, helping others, food-shopping, cleaning, ironing, heating the stove (in the winter), playing and cuddling with the kitties, oh yeah cooking and then cleaning up, well that leaves only one thing open: sleeping. That is enough, isn’t it?
Österreichpremiere von SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT voller Erfolg
Die Benefizpremiere von SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT, am 26. Jänner im Wiener Gartenbaukino war ein voller Erfolg. Rund 800 Zuschauer füllten den Kinosaal und spendeten fleißig für das Life Ball Projekt „New Hope for Cambodian Children“.
Hier ein paar Eindrücke der Premiere, zu der sich auch Regisseur Detlev Buck und Hauptdarsteller David Kross einfanden. Vielen Dank für eure Spenden!
Last week we travelled to New York for meetings with the Clinton foundation and AMFAR This was really important in order to discuss ongoing HIV/ AIDS projects. We also met some old friends who help us to invite international celebrities to the ball every year. After all those exciting meetings we returned to Vienna jetlagged, but with a lot of good news for the Life Ball. Here are some impressions from New York. Ian Reisner hosted a great party for us and brought us together with some life ball supporters. Thank you Ian!

It is like getting out of bed after you have overslept a bit. Getting back to work after Christmas and trying to get out of the last weeks’ laziness is exhausting. Scrolling through half a million unread mails and trying to get organized again. Outside it is still snowing yet cozy-cookie-time is finally over.
Life Ball Preparations

I can tell you only so much: This year the Life Ball will be an event full of superlatives and I bet you will be surprised how big it will be.
PS: Did you already take part in our “Family Promotion” costume contest? Because as soon as you get to know the details of this years’ ball you’d give your right arm for that Style Ticket!

Not every child in the world will have a peaceful and secure Christmas Eve.
…so let your mind wander for a moment and think of those children who are denied the love of their parents and who do not have the blessing of a family home.
The Life Ball team wishes you, your friends, family and loved ones a very happy holiday season and fill your hearts with warmth and love.
The year draws to a close. In anticipation of Life Ball 2010, here are some pics to tide you over!
We will be back in January with new information and highlights regarding Life Ball 2010 – so check back so you can keep yourself up-to-date!
Obviously we wish you all the best for the new year and remember: Be safe than sorry!
